General History Resources

If you like little odds and ends of history (as opposed to lists of dates, battles, and dead people, say) try History House. It has a story of the day as well as a searchable index, and the stuff you find here can make your reports more interesting for you and your teacher. Think about it -- if you're bored, imagine teaching the same thing over and over and over and over!

Check out a great MLK site : Martin Luther King Jr., click here.

U.S. Department of State Background Notes includes information on countries, organizations, and the like. No information about the U.S. though.

Gateway to World History has undergone a massive revision and update.

The History Net is brought to you by the National Historical Society.

HyperHistory: A searchable encyclopedia that includes historical people from 1000 B.C. to the present, and historical events.

Today in History

The Virtual Library of History is mind-bogglingly (is that a word?) HUGE! It has links to every country's history, cultural stuff, chronologies, etc. They even have a link for the mystical country of Climatology. Really. See for yourself. ;)
