Dictionaries
Wordbot! I was not too sure where to put this one, so I'm putting it at the top. You can go to this website, choose a dictionary, then load up a web page. Wordbot will underline each word in the document. You can click on any word you don't understand and it will look it up for you. :-)
You can do something similiar with Voycabulary, which will also link up to a thesaurus. (Yep, it's "Voycabulary" -- I didn't make a pyto.)
Note: most special dictionaries relating to law, science, math, etc., can be found by clicking on those categories from the front page. But there are a handful of special dictionaries here, too.
Acronym Finder lets you look up 57,000 acronyms/abbreviations and their meanings. The focus is on computers, technology, telecommunications, and the military.
There are dozens of Webster's Dictionaries on the Internet. Try this Dictionary.com as well, or take a look at OneLook, a compendium (*whee!*) of words from 34 dictionaries of over 1.6 million definitions.
Webster's Revised Unabridged, 1913 ed. -- useful for archaic words.

DOD Dictionary of Military Terms and Military Abbreviations and Acronyms
Sometimes it will come up with truly weird results, but try the Rhyming Dictionary.
Handspeak.com includes the alphabet, counting to ten, and some basic signs. You definitely need a graphical browser for this site.
Alan Cooper's Homonyms page. Homonyms are words that sound alike, but that are spelled differently and have different meanings.
The Heteronym Homepage features words that are spelled identically but that have different meanings and are sometimes pronounced differently.
Roget's Thesaurus with easy search forms and cross-reference links.
