Tidbits on design choosing
Part 1

Once you have decided to renew the furniture that you have been able to get by using fabric paint and decorating it with a design you will need to make sure that it is the right design for you, your personality and the overall perception that you have of your room, house, or apartment.

• How many designs do you need

If you are striving to make one theme to cover the entire apartment, then you will need at least three different designs that will allow you to switch or alternate them from the fabrics to the walls and to the accessories. For example, if you decide to make an buccaneer theme, you could choose a ship, a pirate flag and a treasure chest as the designs that are suitable for you. In this case, you can decide and create a sailing design for the walls of your bedroom, while you are using the treasure chest for decoration on the pillows while you make a pirate flag décor on the border of the bed spread or even at the bed mat.

Accordingly, when you arrive at the dinning room, you can switch them and use the treasure chest on the walls, while you use the ship theme on the mantels and the flag on the under part of the table. And so on. Of course, using this particular theme on the apartment of a grown up might seem too childish, thus, it is important that you make a careful and considerate decision on the matter.

It could be that you could prefer a general oriented design, like a sailing scene, a general sport or even a football team related theme. In this aspect, you could choose to create your own NFL themed apartment, in such a case, it would be suggested that you pick and choose your five or six favorite teams and use their logos instead of applying yourself into decorating, drawing and using the helmets. To create a better perception, in the walls you can create your own patter with medium to small applications of the logos of your teams or use only one blowing up the logo of the football team right in the middle of it.

In the case of the women, the ideal theme can be just the same, or she could choose to select a flower or animal related one. It is important, however, that you remember that the designs that you choose to apply, will be things that you will be looking at for a long time every day, as such, they have to be soft to the eye, coordinated, and well designed.
