Blind dating does not need to be a hellish experience

When you are asked to go on a blind date a cold chill runs through your spine. It might be that the friend of this friend is the person of your dreams, but it might also be a toad in human disguise and it can be that you are not that into playing Russian roulette… But certainly you cannot say “no” to your roommate, for a number of reasons, he or she might have incriminating or very humiliating photographs of you in bed with a teddy…Bear, that is. Of maybe he or she has a very yummy brother or sister, in any case, you are sure that you cannot say “no”.

So what to do? You can humbly attend, resigning yourself to whatever it may come and however that “mystery date” might look like, or you can plan on an escape plan with additional friends, but what if this “blind date” is actually charming; or you could prepare yourself as best as you can to which ever of the two.

If you have chosen option number 3, then you are certainly a smart bettor, just keep in mind:

• Wear something that flatters you, just do not make it sexy

Using something that is “revealing” or flat out “sexy” could work wonders for you IF you already know what the other person looks like and you like what you see; if you do not know the appearance of your blind date; then you should be modest yet adequate. After all, you COULD have said no.

• If you are a girl, do not wear high heels, if you are a man do not use boots

As a girl, using low shoes will give you an opportunity to run if you need. Since you do not know the height of your blind date, you definitely do not want to make him feel insecure if he is shorter than you leave at least a good chance of conversation. As a guy, you do not want her to think that you are “a redneck”, boots are only used on the ranch or riding a horse, even though the car has horsepower, do not be a wise— and do not wear boots.

• Easy on the scent

Using too much perfume will only reveal that you are uncomfortable with the situation and that you are nervous as a result.

Being nice to the blind date is yet another point on your behalf; a good impression will make wonders for you not only on the blind date as it happens but you will be noticed by people around you and your group of friends… And probably, Mr. or Miss right are right amongst them.
